Description
Permabond UV610 UV Curable Glass Adhesive
Permabond UV610 is a fast-curing UV adhesive specifically developed for bonding glass to metal, glass to glass and decorative assemblies where optical clarity and controlled application are important.
Compared with lower viscosity UV adhesives, UV610 offers a thicker-bodied formulation which helps improve placement control and reduce adhesive flow on vertical or curved surfaces. This makes it particularly suitable for decorative glass applications, drinks bottles, crystal assemblies and precision bonded components where clean cosmetic appearance is essential.
UV610 cures rapidly when exposed to UV light between 365–400nm, creating strong, transparent bonds with excellent adhesion to glass and many metals.
Typical Applications
- Glass to metal bonding
- Decorative glass assemblies
- Crystal bonding
- Drinks bottle decoration
- Retail display assembly
- Glass furniture components
- Precision glass bonding
- Jewellery and decorative fixtures
Key Features & Benefits
- Medium viscosity for improved application control
- Fast UV curing
- Excellent adhesion to glass and metal
- Clear, transparent finish
- High-strength bonding performance
- Reduced running compared with low-viscosity grades
- Ideal for curved or vertical glass surfaces
- 100% solids formulation
Suitable Materials
Permabond UV610 bonds well to:
- Borosilicate glass
- Glass
- Crystal
- Brass
- Gold-plated brass
- Stainless steel
- Decorative metals
- Some rigid plastics (testing recommended)
Why Choose UV610 Instead of UV605?
While Permabond UV605 is ideal for capillary bonding and very tight-fitting joints, UV610 provides a higher viscosity which gives better control during application.
This makes UV610 more suitable for:
- Decorative bonding
- Vertical surfaces
- Curved glass bottles
- Larger decorative components
- Applications where adhesive flow needs to be minimised
Typical Technical Information
| Property | Typical Value |
|---|---|
| Appearance | Translucent |

Surface Preparation
For best results:
- Ensure all surfaces are clean and grease-free
- Remove fingerprints and contamination from glass
- Degrease metal surfaces using isopropanol
- Light abrasion may improve adhesion on some metals
- Apply adhesive sparingly to avoid squeeze-out
UV Curing Information
Permabond UV610 requires UV light exposure to cure. Suitable UV curing lamps or UV torches operating between 365–400nm should be used.
Cure speed depends on:
- UV lamp intensity
- Distance from the surface
- Bond line thickness
- UV transmission through substrates
