Permabond TA4208 Black 50ml Structural Acrylic Adhesive
Permabond TA4208 Black is a fast-curing, two-part structural acrylic adhesive for bonding metals, plastics and composites. Its toughened formulation delivers high shear and peel strength, while the black finish blends in with carbon fibre and other dark components.
TA4208 Black mixes at a 1:1 ratio and cures at room temperature. Its thick, non-sagging consistency makes it easier to apply to vertical surfaces and helps fill gaps of up to 3mm.
What materials does it bond?
Permabond TA4208 Black can be used to bond:
- Metals: aluminium, steel, stainless steel and galvanised steel
- Plastics: including ABS, PVC, polycarbonate and acrylic (PMMA)
- Composites: carbon fibre and epoxy-based fibreglass (FRP)
- Other materials: ceramics and wood, subject to application testing
It is particularly useful for carbon fibre to carbon fibre or carbon fibre to metal assemblies where both bond strength and the appearance of the finished joint matter. As plastic grades and surface finishes vary, test the adhesive on the actual materials before production use.

Why choose TA4208 Black?
Its toughened formulation provides good impact resistance alongside high shear and peel strength. It also bonds well to unprepared aluminium, although cleaning and appropriate surface preparation are recommended for the most consistent results.
The adhesive has a 4–9 minute pot life at 23°C and develops handling strength in approximately 10–15 minutes. These times will vary with temperature, the materials being bonded and the size of the joint.

How to use: Ensure surfaces are clean and dry. Dispense the adhesive through a suitable 1:1 mixing nozzle, assemble the parts within the working time and hold them in position while the bond develops handling strength. For load-bearing or critical assemblies
