Description
Gemini GrabFast Clear is a high-performance, fast-tacking industrial spray contact adhesive designed for bonding a wide range of materials including laminates, veneers, MDF, plywood, metals, upholstery, fabrics, carpets and van lining.
Supplied in a 22 litre self-pressurised canister, GrabFast Clear provides fast, even adhesive application without the need for a separate compressor. Its high initial grab allows bonded components to be handled and, where appropriate, machined soon after assembly, making it particularly suited to busy manufacturing, fabrication, joinery, automotive and installation environments.
With 32–34% glue solids, up to 120°C temperature stability and approximately 18m²/kg coverage, GrabFast Clear offers an efficient alternative to manually applied contact adhesives.

Why Use a Spray Contact Adhesive?
Traditional contact adhesives are commonly applied manually using a brush, roller or spreader. This can become time-consuming when bonding large panels or working in a production environment.
The GrabFast self-pressurised system allows the adhesive to be sprayed directly onto the substrates, helping provide fast and consistent coverage.
The high initial grab also means that correctly bonded components can often be handled quickly after assembly, reducing production downtime.
How to Apply Gemini GrabFast Clear
For best results, substrates should be conditioned to room temperature before bonding.
Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease and contamination.
- Hold the spray gun parallel to the substrate.
- Apply an even coat of adhesive to both surfaces being bonded.
- Aim for approximately 80–100% coverage without allowing the adhesive to puddle.
- Where possible, spray one substrate horizontally and the second vertically. This creates a cross-hatch pattern when the two adhesive-coated surfaces meet.
- Allow the adhesive to flash off.
- The adhesive is ready for bonding when it feels dry and does not transfer to your finger.
- Carefully position the two substrates.
- Bring the surfaces together and apply firm, uniform pressure using a suitable roller.
Important: Contact Adhesives Bond Immediately
GrabFast Clear is a contact adhesive and should be applied to both substrates.
Once properly flashed-off adhesive surfaces are brought together, the initial bond can be very strong. Make sure the components are correctly aligned before allowing the surfaces to make full contact.
Porous Surfaces and Edges
Highly porous materials may absorb some of the first adhesive coat.
On porous surfaces or exposed edges, an additional coat may therefore be required. Allow the first application to dry correctly before applying another coat.
Do not apply another coat prematurely.
Trapping solvent between layers of adhesive can contribute to bubbling, rippling or eventual bond failure.
Cold Weather Storage and Application
Pressurised adhesive canisters should be kept at a suitable working temperature.
If a canister has been stored in temperatures below approximately 15°C, allow it to acclimatise before use.
A cold canister can result in an inconsistent spray pattern and an incorrect balance of adhesive, solvent and propellant being dispensed.
For this reason, avoid leaving canisters directly on cold concrete floors during winter. Store them in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and relevant safety documentation.
Canister Care
Once the hose and gun have been connected and the canister is in use, do not turn the canister valve off between normal uses.
The system is designed to remain connected and pressurised. Prematurely shutting the canister off can allow adhesive to cure or dry within the hose and gun, potentially causing a blockage.
When changing canisters, follow the manufacturer’s recommended changeover procedure.
