Description

Bostik Simson ISR 70-03 White – 600ml Panel Bonding Adhesive

Bostik Simson ISR 70-03 is a high-performance panel bonding adhesive designed for structural and semi-structural applications in transport, fabrication and industrial assembly.

This flexible MS polymer adhesive is widely used for bonding vehicle panels, composite panels and aluminium structures where strength, movement and long-term durability are required.

With up to 20% movement capability, excellent UV and weather resistance, and strong gap-filling properties, it is ideal for applications where vibration, thermal expansion and dynamic loads must be absorbed without joint failure.

Unlike rigid adhesives, ISR 70-03 provides a flexible structural bond, making it particularly effective for bonding metals, painted surfaces, GRP, polycarbonate, glass and rubber in transport and construction environments.

Its paint compatibility (wet-on-wet) and high slump resistance also make it suitable for visible joints and vertical applications where finish and control are critical.

Panel Bonding Applications

ISR 70-03 is specifically designed as a panel bonding adhesive for:

  • Vehicle body panels and trailer sides
  • Composite and GRP panel bonding
  • Aluminium and steel panel assembly
  • Roof and side panel installation

✅ Key Benefits

✔ Elastic structural bonding adhesive with 20% movement capability
✔ Strong adhesion to metals, GRP, painted surfaces, glass & plastics
✔ Permanently flexible – absorbs vibration and dynamic loads
✔ Excellent UV & weather resistance for long-term durability
✔ Paintable (wet-on-wet) with industrial coatings
✔ High slump resistance – suitable for vertical and gap-filling joints
✔ Good chemical resistance and ageing performance
✔ Suitable for indoor & outdoor industrial use

🏗 Typical Applications

  • Panel bonding in vehicle bodies, trailers and transport builds
  • Bonding roof panels, side panels and structural components
  • Bonding GRP / composite panels to metal frames
  • Sealing and bonding sunroof and glazing systems (non-direct glazing)
  • Elastic bonding of structural joints subject to movement
  • Sealing welded seams and fabrication joints
  • Bonding aluminium profiles and corner sections

For sealing applications rather than bonding, explore our silicone and PU sealants.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • Not suitable for PE, PP or PTFE without surface treatment
  • For joints exposed to frequent water contact on metals, primer may be recommended
  • Designed for elastic structural bonding, not rigid load-bearing joints

For higher strength rigid bonding, see our guide to structural MMA adhesives such as Plexus MA310. If bonding low surface energy plastics, consider Permabond TA4611 with primer.

ISR 70-03 vs PU & MMA Adhesives for Panel Bonding

When selecting the best panel bonding adhesive, it’s important to understand how MS polymer, polyurethane (PU), and MMA adhesives compare.

Bostik Simson ISR 70-03 (MS Polymer) offers a flexible structural bond, making it ideal for panel applications exposed to vibration, thermal expansion, and dynamic loads. It maintains adhesion while allowing movement, which helps prevent joint failure over time.

Polyurethane (PU) adhesives typically provide higher initial strength than MS polymers but are more rigid once cured. This makes them suitable for static panel bonding where movement is minimal, but less effective in high-vibration environments.

MMA (acrylic) adhesives such as Plexus offer the highest structural strength and fastest cure times. However, they are significantly more rigid and are best suited for load-bearing structural joints rather than flexible panel bonding applications.

For most vehicle, composite, and aluminium panel installations, a flexible MS polymer adhesive like ISR 70-03 provides the best balance between strength, durability, and movement absorption.
