Description
Alpha Thixofix non drip contact adhesive is designed to provide strong, reliable bonding across a wide range of materials.
Unlike conventional liquid contact adhesives, Thixofix has a thixotropic gel consistency which helps prevent dripping, running and unnecessary mess during application. This makes the adhesive particularly easy to spread and suitable for use on vertical as well as horizontal surfaces.
Originally developed for bonding decorative laminated plastics to wood and other substrates, Alpha Thixofix can also be used with materials including rubber, rigid PVC, cork, leather, fabrics, wood, painted and unpainted metal, hardboard, plasterboard and chipboard.
A useful characteristic of Thixofix is its ability to allow a small amount of positional adjustment during assembly. This can make positioning laminates and other components easier than with traditional instant-grab contact adhesives.

How to Use Alpha Thixofix
Surfaces should be clean, dry and free from dust, grease, oil, wax and other contamination. Abrasion may be appropriate depending on the substrates being bonded.
Apply Thixofix to both surfaces using a suitable spreader. Allow the adhesive to dry for approximately 10–15 minutes, or until touch dry with no adhesive transfer.
Bring the two surfaces together and press firmly to consolidate the bond and remove trapped air. Correct positioning should be planned before assembly, although Thixofix allows a small degree of adjustment during positioning.
The initial contact bond develops further over the following 48 hours. Alpha recommends allowing seven days at room temperature before exposing the bond to high in-service temperatures approaching its maximum heat resistance.
