Description

Bostik Simson ISR 70-08 AP Black – 290ml Foil Sausage Direct Glazing Adhesive for Windscreen Bonding

Bostik Simson ISR 70-08 is a high-performance windscreen bonding adhesive designed for direct glazing applications in automotive, transport and specialist vehicle builds.

This fast-curing SMP adhesive provides high initial grab and permanent flexibility, making it ideal for bonding windscreens, vehicle glass and structural glazing components. Formulated using Silyl Modified Polymer (SMP) technology, this moisture-curing adhesive delivers exceptional green strength and high initial tack, allowing bonded windscreens to be installed and secured quickly — with vehicles ready for release in as little as 45 minutes (dual airbag systems).

Unlike traditional polyurethane systems, ISR 70-08 achieves strong, reliable adhesion without reliance on a full priming system, reducing application errors and speeding up installation.

Once cured, it forms a permanently elastic, high-strength bond that withstands vibration, movement, and extreme environmental conditions — making it ideal for demanding transport and industrial glazing applications.

Windscreen Bonding Applications

ISR 70-08 is specifically developed as a windscreen bonding adhesive for:

  • Vehicle windscreen replacement and installation
  • Bus, coach and rail glazing
  • Automotive aftermarket repairs
  • Direct glazing of glass panels into metal frames

Its high green strength allows fast installation with minimal support, reducing downtime in vehicle repair and manufacturing environments.

ISR 70-08 vs PU Windscreen Adhesives

Traditional polyurethane (PU) windscreen adhesives have long been used for vehicle glazing due to their strength and durability. However, SMP-based adhesives like ISR 70-08 offer several advantages, including primerless adhesion on glass, lower odour, and improved application safety.

While PU adhesives remain common in OEM settings, SMP glazing adhesives provide a more user-friendly and versatile solution for aftermarket and industrial applications, especially where ease of use and environmental resistance are important.
