Description
Permabond ET5164 is a high-performance, lightly thixotropic, two-part structural epoxy adhesive specifically formulated for food contact applications. It has been developed primarily for bonding stainless steel, whilst also providing excellent adhesion to steel, aluminium and a range of other engineering substrates.
Compliant with both FDA 175.300 and EU Food Contact Regulation 10/2011, Permabond ET5164 is ideal for manufacturers, maintenance engineers and OEMs producing food processing equipment, commercial catering equipment and beverage machinery where food-safe adhesive performance is essential.
Its lightly thixotropic consistency prevents excessive adhesive movement while allowing excellent gap filling up to 2mm, producing durable structural bonds with outstanding mechanical performance.

Surface Preparation
For optimum performance, all surfaces should be clean, dry and free from grease or contamination. Degrease using a suitable solvent such as acetone or isopropyl alcohol. Aluminium, copper and similar alloys benefit from light abrasion before bonding to remove surface oxides.
Directions for Use
- Insert Permabond TA5164 into a suitable dispensing gun.
- Remove the cap and dispense a small amount until both components flow evenly.
- Attach a static mixing nozzle.
- Apply adhesive to one surface.
- Assemble components within the 50 to 70 minute working time.
- Clamp until handling strength is achieved.
- Allow 24 hours at room temperature for full cure, or accelerate curing using heat if required.
